In response to concerns around public safety and accessibility on the 000-block of East Hastings, the City will begin of the Street and Traffic By-law on Hastings St to address congestion and safety risks due to illegal street vending. The increased enforcement in the area aims to support safer access for all pedestrians, particularly those with mobility needs and to address the misuse of City sidewalks for the fencing of stolen goods.

Vancouver on track to meet provincial housing targets

The City of Vancouver has on the Provincial Housing Target Order and Interim Housing Needs Report. Despite challenges such as interest rates, construction costs and labour availability, the City’s development pipeline is on track to deliver a supply of new housing units that meets the provincial housing targets in the full five-year period.

Traffic impacts coming to Cambie Street Bridge

The City is and walking and cycling detours around the Cambie Street Bridge starting this month.

Traffic impacts are anticipated until spring 2025, while the City’s contractor completes rehabilitation work on the bridge deck. People are encouraged to plan ahead, expect delays, and use alternate routes where possible.

City renews investment for emerging artists and professionals in music industry

As Vancouver prepares to host Canada’s top musical talent during the 2025 JUNO Awards in March 2025, the City is .

At the JUNO Awards press conference, Mayor Ken Sim announced Vancouver City Council’s commitment of $350,000 to the Vancouver Music Fund to support Indigenous and underrepresented groups working in the music and sound recording industry.

Council unanimously approves changes to parking fees and regulations

City Council has to enhance traffic flow, reduce congestion, and better support customer experience and sustainable transportation throughout the city.

The new regulations will be implemented in phases, beginning in early 2025.

Are you Ready for it? Plan ahead to attend The Eras Tour

BC Place is Enchanted to welcome Taylor Swift and her fans to Vancouver for the last stop of The Eras Tour on December 6 to 8.

Those attending the concert or other events downtown are : plan ahead and allow for extra time to get where they need to go. Anticipate delays especially near BC Place, Rogers Arena and Concord Pacific Place. Whenever possible walk, bike, roll, or take transit to and from downtown.
